Very easy read with the author candidly sharing her experiences with a difficult first child. This book will bring surprising anecdotes for those parents who were gifted with a quiet, cooperative child. Unfortunately, for me, I was not one of those parents, and I am finding these stories all too familiar. But in saying this, it is comforting to know that there are other parents out there who struggled through raising a difficult baby, and this book is filled with helpful tips to get you through especially difficult situations that do not seem to be covered by any of the parenting books I have read while trying to find ways of coping with my own energetic bundle of joy? As my child is still in her first year of being difficult, I can honestly say these tips have made very challenging situations just that little bit more bearable. This book is filled with illustrations of characters who are not only very easy to like, but in my case very easy to relate too. Looking forward to the next chapter in the main character’s life. Being a parent with a 'threenager' daughter, this has been the first and only book that I've read which I can actually relate to! Anna Garcia tells the real life adventures with her daughter, Allegra, in a witty and honest way. This book is like a parent-survival pack it also includes valuable tips on managing life with a little one. It is thoroughly entertaining. I highly recommend it!
I had a lot of good laughs with this book. Anna manages to turn harrowing moments of new parenthood into light-hearted vignettes that are fun to read. I've gifted this to parents going through the same experiences and they too have enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
I was curious to see how this book would relate to me because i do not have kids of my own. As i was skimming through the book i saw pictures so i started to look through them and found myself reading the last chapter of the book. I am not a systematic reader. So i decided to give it a try and as i was reading it each chapter gave me a different emotion. I found myself crying or laughing hysterically. The book gave me insight on how it's like being first time parents. Kept me interested that i had to tell myself to stop reading and save some for the next evening. Took me 3 days to read this book. Easy reading. It wasn't what i expected boring and repetitive. Every page had something interesting in it. The text is unpredictable. Get it! Get it! Get it! I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and anyone really!
